For all of my services, I employ a sliding scale payment policy. For those unfamiliar with this type of policy, here's how it works: for each category of service I set a range for the hourly rate, and you can choose to pay anything within that range. The goal of this pricing policy is to allow each client to pay an amount within his or her means. Ideally, clients who can afford to do so will pay at the upper end of the spectrum, while those who cannot will be able to choose a level appropriate to their financial situation. (I also offer financial aid to those who find the low end of my scale above their means; please contact me directly to request financial aid.)
I have set my pricing range in a way that reflects both the current market and the depth of my experience. Test preparation is more expensive than other types of tutoring because of its unique nature; it is less an ongoing educational process than a specific, focused, short-range investment of time and money in the student's future. While you may find less expensive tutors, I believe you will be hard-pressed to find a tutor with richer reserves of experience, ability, and empathy. SLIDING SCALE PRICES Test Preparation (including SAT, SAT 2, ACT, ISEE/SSAT/HSPT, GRE, GMAT, and MCAT): $100-$130 per hour All Other Subjects: $75-$100 per hour If you have any questions about this policy, please feel free to contact me via phone or e-mail. |
