Writing isn't just about the nuts and bolts of grammar and spelling (although these are of course important): it's about the clear communication of ideas that are often complex. It's about finding one's own voice, an engaging style that keeps the reader's interest and makes reading a pleasure rather than a chore. Many people think they can't be taught to become better writers, just as they believe they can't learn how to read more efficiently and effectively. This is simply not the case. The goal of my writing services is not just to help the student jump over the particular hurdle of a term paper or other writing assignment; instead, I focus on giving students the tools and insight they need to succeed independently at collegiate level writing tasks and beyond. TIMELINE: This will vary widely, based on the individual student's needs and goals. I provide everything from final review of a final draft to ground-floor guidance during the initial outlining and brainstorming phase of a major writing project. I also design customized programs to help students grow as writers outside the confines of a specific academic writing assignment.
